Central Park, Sydney

I remember my first week in Sydney, walking by the Central Park apartments, staring up, jaw on the floor, and joking about living there one day. Fast forward a short month later and Mark & I bagged ourself the most dreamy apartment here…

It’s not only a huge tourist attraction just because the building looks somewhat unique, the area Central Park is situated in is packed with boutique cafes, a shopping centre, cinema, ice cream parlours - everything you could ever need and want right on your door step. My favourite spot at the moment is Fika by Cup, it’s a flower shop come cafe and they serve the most AMAZING red velvet latte’s, if you’re in Sydney, you can’t leave here without trying one…

I do love my food, and having the famous Spice Alley a two minute walk from our apartment was an absolute winner! Hidden right behind all the cool bars and quirky gift shops on Kennsington Street, you’ll find Kopi-Tiam Spice Alley. Besides it’s authentic Asian decor and pretty little seating areas, here you’ll discover some of the most delicious Asian foods. One of my favourites is Old Jim Kee’s chicken satay, everything is made entirely fresh and cooked to order. On the plus side, it’s BYOB, so head to Red Bottle in Central Park Mall and pick up a nice bottle of wine or some craft beers to enjoy with your food before you go.

Besides all the mouth watering dishes available at Spice Alley, my absolute favourite haunt is Andiamo’s Italian. I can hands down say I have never had a better pasta dish than I have here, even when I visited Rome. I try not to order the same thing twice too often but I can not keep myself away from the Pappardelle Fresh Pesto e Pollo - fresh homemade creamy rocket pesto, chicken, pinenuts and shaved parmesan… to. die. for.

Another place I cant get enough of is Gin Lane, right next to Spice Alley. It’s a tiny bar that specialises in gin and gin cocktails. As a gin drinker, having this bar on our door step is thee most ideal situation. The cocktails are certainly a bit more pricey but 100% worth it. Anyone would agree. If you like ginger beer, then you need to try their watering can cocktail (it’s for sharing but one to yourself is definitely ok). Their cocktails not only taste great but the presentation of the drinks are INSANE, light up cocktails, smoking cocktails, cocktails that come with little bottles of perfume, you name it - they’ve thought of it.

If you know me you’ll know I always have my nails done and living in Central Park, fitting in an appointment between work and everything else going on is super easy. There are a few boutique nail bars round about, all within a two minute walking distance. I’ve tried them all so far, still trying to pick my favourite!

Although Central Park is ultra-modern, it’s not short of it’s history. Integrated into the new renewal site is the 1911 Irving Street Brewery building, it’s front facing onto the park and is an attractive centrepiece to the area.

To top it all off residents at Central Park have exclusive access to the gym, pool and spa facilities. Living in Australia, where the sun constantly shines means we get to make the best use of this. I love heading up to the hot tub on our rooftop when I want to chill out, nothing beats chilling out in the sun with your music on and here is the perfect place to do it!
