Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow

If anywhere in the world combines modern luxury with a touch of classic glamour, perfectly, it's got to be The Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.

Greeted at the reception with a smile and complimentary fizz vouchers for the newly refurbished Champagne Central, we headed to our gorgeous Superior Double Room. The walk to the room was an experience in itself - the large corridors had impressive seating areas, elegant couches, desk areas and windows with amazing viewpoints over Glasgow City Centre.

The Grand Central Hotel offers a vast range of rooms for guests to choose from. Our Superior Double room had fresh white linen sheets, lots of comfy cushions, all the amenities you could ask for and the most STUNNING bathroom. The bathroom had lovely marble and granite finishes (so very me!), a walk in shower, huge sink and a beautifully lit mirror - perfect for getting ready for a night out in town.

Booking the hotel for a special occasion, we were left a thoughtful birthday card, a bottle of champagne and some chocolate which was a really nice touch.

Placed next to the sink, The Grand Central Hotel guaranteed its 'My favourite hotel bathroom ever' title with their complimentary The White Company toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner, bath & shower gel and a cute little bar of soap.

After spending a whole 5 minutes being confused about why there was a TV remote and no TV in sight we finally realised that the television was actually inside the mirror! This is a perfect example on how The Grand Central Hotel still keeps it's classic glam look with a modern twist.

After spending some time getting ready and picking my jaw off the bathroom floor, we headed to Champagne Central...

You can't miss the front entrance, it displays an elegant neon sign above the archway - leading straight down the hallway where you can hear the buzz from the bar already.

We took a seat right next to the window, overlooking Glasgow Central train station. If you like people watching (especially on a Saturday night) Champagne Central is the place to be! We ordered a glass of fizz and some cocktails at the bar to start off our night...

Champagne Central screams glamour from the moment you walk in - marble tables, rose gold cocktail shakers, exclusive seating booths and stylish poseur tables, it's the place to be seen.

The hotel also offers use of The 'Champagne Corner' - a private room perfect for small functions or get togethers. You can play your own music and enjoy the views from the windows whilst you're sitting in the comfy booths.

What wow'd me the most about Champagne Central was definitely the chandelier in front of the bar.

With the huge chandelier starting on the top floor, reaching all the way down to the lobby greeting you when you first enter the hotel, it has massive competition.

All too soon, we had to check out the next morning and say goodbye to our gorgeous room.

The hotel is in the most perfect location if you're looking to wander the city centre, close to restaurants, night life and touristy spots.

The service in the hotel is nothing less than first class and if you're looking for luxury at an affordable price then look no further than The Grand Central Hotel.
